The Ultimate Guide to a Wanderlust’s Quarantine

Let’s be honest, staying positive these days can be a challenge. We’re all feeling the stress of tracking the virus on the news, the difficulties of working from home or being out of work altogether, and the challenges of not being able to spend time in community with the ones we love.

On top of these difficult aspects of quarantine brought on by COVID-19, we’re also all facing changed plans — postponed weddings, skipped graduations, and of course, canceled trips. While things might not return to normal as we know it for some time, that doesn’t mean we have to stop dreaming and planning.

Check out our guide on using your COVID-19 quarantine to plan for your next big trip!

Practice Self-Care

First things first, nobody can survive weeks of quarantine without practicing some good self-care. In fact, nobody can really thrive, even in normal life, without taking a little time for themselves each day. When practicing self-care, it’s important to make a plan. Whether you’re working right now or not, it’s key to set an alarm each morning, giving yourself time to recharge for the rest of your day. Whether you want to sip some coffee, read a book, or do some yoga, give yourself the space so you can tackle this quarantine day head on.

At the end of each day, give yourself time to reflect and have gratitude for the blessings of the day, accompanied by a glass of red wine or a warm bath — or maybe both, because self-care is that important!

Make a Vision Board

One silver lining of quarantine is that we all seem to have a bit of time on our hands, whether we like it or not. With no social gatherings or events to attend, there’s more time for getting creative and making space for dreaming. If you’re anything like us, we can’t stop dreaming about what we’re going to do once all of this is over — and the biggest thing on our minds is our next big trip.

There’s no better way to stay positive than by making plans for your dream vacation. In order to keep your goals on the forefront of your mind, we suggest making a vision board — like Pinterest, but in real life! Gather images and small items that will remind you of your dream trip when you’re feeling down and out about quarantine. Not sure where you want to go? Channel Your Vacation Vibes at Home

The reality of all of this is that we probably won’t be traveling here for the next few months, but that doesn’t mean we can’t vacation! At The Tripp Hub, we’re all about getting creative, especially during a time like this. So while you should definitely keep planning your next real vacation, why not channel vacation vibes now at home?

Whether it’s a fancy cocktail, a special meal, or reading a good book in the sun, whatever vacation means to you, make some space in your week to get your vacation vibes on. If you have kiddos, think up some fun vacation-like activities for them to do — build a tent to spend the night in in the living room, bake some special treats, or plan an adventure scavenger hunt in the backyard.
